ESSAY COMPETITION – BHRO
The Bonaire Human Rights Organization (BHRO), in collaboration with the Movement for Change Foundation, invites Bonairean women and girls to participate in an essay competition to represent Bonaire at United Nations Headquarters in New York
Theme: “My Voice, Our Future” - The role of women in defending human rights and shaping Bonaire’s future.
Prize: One winner will represent Bonaire at the United Nations Women’s Conference in New York – March 2026, joining the BHRO delegation and participating in official UN events.
Who can participate: Women and youth aged 11 years and older residing in Bonaire (Winners under 18 may be accompanied by a legal guardian)
Languages: Papiamentu, English, Spanish, or Dutch
Submission Deadline: January 12, 2026
