The Summary of

Nos Ke Boneiru Bek (NKBB) - We Want Bonaire Back Trajectory:

The Beginning:

 

·        organized in 2012 and 2017 anti-2nd chamber elections campaign on Bonaire. Created own public voting-poll where the Bonerian citizens did cast protest-votes with their Dutch voters-cards

·        our foundation did signature campaign for referendum, collected over 3500 requesting referendum for Bonaire

·        several complaints through Human Rights Council Complaint of United Nations procedure in Geneva

·        speech requesting international support in the 30th COPPPAL congress in Mexico, resolution supporting Bonaire and Statia , and COPPPAL to undertake actions to move the issue through their decolonization committee and other international forums

·         2013 personal private meeting with King Willem Alexander and Minister Plasterk discussion about our situation and requesting support for referendum and change of status

·        NKBB receives written confirmation from Netherlands Minister Plasterk of respecting our self-determination rights and right to hold a referendum

·        several protests-actions during visiting Dutch delegations to Bonaire

·        protest-march for non-stop 24hours starting from the south end of the island and through all the neighborhoods of Bonaire requesting referendum

·        protested camp-out non-stop/occupy 24/7 the entrance Government building for 222 consecutive days without leaving and sleeping till the referendum a referendum was given to the people of Bonaire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbzBcUtkjkY

 

The Referendum:

 

·        campaigned on inception referendum Bonaire 2015 announcement till referendum voting for NO, turnout 62% of which 65% voted rejecting the current status

·        initiative for movement for an Caribbean Progressive Alliance

·        joined forces with Sint Eustatius

·        official complaint against Holland to ACS country members in Havana

·        formed a delegation from Bonaire with government of Statia to go to UN, NY and meeting with several country missions of the Special Committee of United Nations in New York

·        personal meeting with 2 vice-chair and the chair of the C24 committees

·        invited by chair and participated in Cultural activities

·        official complaint to Security Council and Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon with regards to Holland contending for seat in the Security Council

·        co-coordinators of the conference in Sint Maarten of COPPPAL “Unifying in Solidarity to eradicate colonialism in the American continent”

·        2nd visit to the UN headquarters NY: presentation of NKBB Green Paper to all Decolonization Committee of the United Nations Members and request to adopt a resolution to support

 

The Decision of 2018 until now:

 

·        NKBB organized a delegation in April 2018 to object to the deposed Government of Sint Eustatius meet at Caricom headquarters in Guyana with the Assistant -Secretary General Ambassador, Mr. Granderson.

·         The Bonaire Green paper and the Sint Eustatius White paper, were officially disseminated to all Caricom Member Countries.

·        May 2018, NKBB, James Finies met with Caricom Secretary General Ambassador, Mr.Irwin La Rocque in the Bahamas at the COFCOR meetings.

·        NKBB went further and met with several Human Rights Organizations and Amnesty International in Bahamas.

·        NKBB went to Grenada in 2018 to the UN C24 seminar and met with UN Special Raporteur on Decolonization

·        NKBB joined with Grenada Human Rights Organization, and cooperates to realize Bonaire Human Rights Organization

·        Historical meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Grenada who vowed to support Bonaire in their struggle.

·        In Barbados met with Leaders - now in government with Mrs. Mia Motley as Prime Minister

·        Met with Human Rights Organizations and Caribbean Peace Movement Leaders and NKBB was invited  and represent the Dutch Caribbean islands in the Caribbean peoples movement for integration and reparations trajectory.

·        2016 Conference  “The Political Future of the Dutch Administrated Caribbean”– Speakers; Dr. Carlyle Cobin – UN Expert, President of COPPPAL, Rudy Croes - Vice President of COPPPAL, Mr. Koota - MAN Party of Curacao, speakers from Statia, SXM, San Andres and Puerto Rico.

·        2017 Conference Bonaire “ The Political Future of the Dutch- administered Caribbean II” – Dr. Carlyle Corbin - UN Expert, Speakers From Puerto Rico, San Andres, Statia, SXM, Curacao and Aruba.

·        2018 Conference on Bonaire“The Political Future and the Right of Self-determination of the Caribbean 111”  – Dr. Carlyle Corbin - UN Expert, speaker from Curacao.

·        2019 Conference Bonaire The Political Future, the Right of Self-determination and REPARATIONS of the Caribbean IV– Dr. Carlyle Corbin - UN Expert, Speakers from Aruba, Curacao, Statia, San Andres, French Guiana, etc…

·        2019 – Commissioning of Corbin’s group to do the Bonaire’s Assessment. 

·        2020 – NKBB Pre-launching of Book: Bonaire “Self-determination Denied”

·        2020 --Received the Completed  “Assessment of self-governance sufficiency in conformity with internationally-recognized standards: Country Bonaire” 

·        2020 – establish executive committee NUKEB – objective to regain the autonomy of Bonaire- consisting out of three political parties : FSP, UUPP, URB and Bonaire Human Rights Organization, citizens representative and NKBB

·        2020--  Organized Conference Bonaire The Political Future, the Right of Self-determination and REPARATIONS of the Caribbean

222 Days of Protest:

222 consecutive days without leaving and sleeping till the referendum was given to the people of Bonaire
